Professional biography
- 2012-2020 - Director of Ural Scientific Research Institute for Metrology (UNIIM);
- until 2021 - Assistant Professor, Department of Magnetism and Magnetic Nanomaterials, Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin (UrFU);
- Head of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Metrology;
- Member of Scientific and Technical Commission for metrology and measurement instrumentation, The Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart);
- Author of more than 110 scientific papers and publications;
- currently he is engaged in a dissertation research for the degree of Doctor of Technical Science in the field of mathematical modeling of measurement processes and systems.
Research interests
Scientific and engineering activities of S.V. Medvedevskikh are mainly dedicated to the issues of measurements uniformity provision in the field of moisture measurement of solids and materials. The main direction of his activity is the solution of scientific and methodological problems of metrological support of moisture measurement rapid test method during dynamic moisture mode; the development of specific models of measuring processes and based on them assessment algorithms of the measurement uncertainty of indicators of the composition and properties of substances and materials.
The state primary standard of unit of mass fraction and unit of mass concentration of moisture in solid substances and solid fabricated materials has been developed with the direct participation of S.V. Medvedevskikh.
He is the drafter of normative and methodological documents in the field of provision of measurement uniformity, such as interstate and national measurement standards, recommendations, measurement procedure.
He was directly involved in the drafting of regulatory legal acts of the Eurasian Economic Union.
He actively participates in the work of the council as Deputy Chairman of the Coordinating Council for Traceability in Chemical Measurement of the Federal Technical Regulation and Metrology Agency (Rosstandart).
